What to expect during your first visit

As a meticulous individual searching for the best dental care, it’s natural to ask for as much information as possible before scheduling an appointment with your Arva dentist. We have described below what you should expect during your first visit for a seamless experience. 

• Warm welcome: From our reception team to our dental team, everyone makes you feel comfortable and want to return every time. Upon your arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by our friendly team. We’ll ask you to complete some paperwork to understand more about you and your smile—all information you give us is confidential. We only need it to tailor-make your treatment.
• Dental exam: A dental check-up is a quick, painless procedure recommended on your first visit and every six months after that. During a dental exam, the dentist visually examines your teeth and gums with an intraoral camera to check for signs of gum disease, decay, oral cancer, etc. We also use digital X-rays to examine your internal structures for signs of bone loss, tumours, impacted teeth, etc., not visible to the naked eye.
• Dental cleaning: Although you clean your teeth at home every day, your toothbrush and dental floss can’t reach all the surfaces of your mouth. Professional dental cleanings at our office access all areas in your mouth to eliminate built-in plaque and tartar for an issue-free smile.
• Treatment plan: We only take this step if we find issues in your smile. If you have more than moderate gum disease, we’ll recommend deep teeth cleaning to restore your gum health. Should we find tooth decay, we’ll recommend dental fillings or inlays/onlays, depending on the severity. Other possible treatments include dental crowns, root canals, and extractions.

Many people are nervous about dental appointments, but we try our best to change all that. Dental visits shouldn’t be intimidating.
